Child stars seem to have roller coaster lives. They experience fame and fortune at a young age and then, in most cases, endure the trials and tribulation of adulthood.Kristy McNichol, a former child star, had her life story featured on the program Biography on Saturday morning, and it turned out to be quite interesting.
McNichol is mostly remembered as the star of Family which aired in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The television show was very successful and lasted for five years. McNichol was a fine teenage actress and consequently with that, a highly paid one. She made movies and records as well. Later in her twenties, she was diagnosed as being bipolar and left acting because of that.
Today, she is retired and has more than enough to support herself without returning to the big or small screen due to wise investments and smart business sense.
McNichol, now 48, is involved in charity work and is happy with her single life — she never married.
